After 6 years of infertility, we were ready to meet our little girl. Melissa came in during shift change and explained exactly what was going to happen and what the plan for the next couple of hours would be. This was very reassuring and exactly what I needed. Right away my labor pain started to increase, and my epidural wore off. Melissa, over the next couple of hours, came in numerous times and was constantly communicating with the doctors and trying to help me the best she could. She took every concern I had seriously and really made sure she was there for me. After I received some pain medication, my labor took a turn and my baby lost fetal heart tones. Melissa came in with a team of people and worked very hard to make sure that my baby was ok. She stayed calm and helped me through that very scary moment. After that, she never left my side. The next hour proved to be the hardest, and she never gave up on me. I wanted to quit so many times, but she would bring me back and eventually, I delivered my baby girl. As a nurse, it was humbling to be a patient, and I truly can’t thank Melissa enough for helping us every step of the way! Thank you so much, Melissa! My family and I are truly grateful for you!
