Her ability to empathize and show genuine concern for our well-being was nothing short of extraordinary, helping us navigate the challenging emotions that accompany such a heartbreaking situation.
I am writing to nominate an exceptional PICU nurse, Joscelyn Doleac, for the prestigious DAISY Award. Her compassionate and dedicated care during an incredibly difficult time in my life has left a lasting impact on my heart and my family's well-being.
In the midst of every parent's, especially a new parent’s worst nightmare, Joscelyn became our guiding light when one of our precious twin 3-month-old daughters, P, was admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. From the moment we met her, her warm smile and reassuring presence provided us with a sense of comfort and hope amidst the turmoil we were facing.
Throughout P’s stay in the PICU, Joscelyn demonstrated unparalleled expertise in her field. Her medical knowledge and skills were evident in every aspect of her care, ensuring that P received the best possible treatment and attention at all times. Despite the challenges of working in a high-stress environment, Joscelyn remained composed and focused, prioritizing P's well-being above all else.
What set Joscelyn apart was not just her proficiency as a nurse but the genuine compassion she extended to my daughter and our entire family. She took the time to get to know P as an individual and treated her with the utmost respect and kindness. Joscelyn always went the extra mile to explain procedures and treatment plans in a way that we could understand, ensuring that we were informed and empowered to make the best decisions for our daughter.
Moreover, Joscelyn demonstrated an exceptional ability to provide emotional support during an incredibly painful time. She listened without judgment, offering a shoulder to lean on when we needed it most. Her ability to empathize and show genuine concern for our well-being was nothing short of extraordinary, helping us navigate the challenging emotions that accompany such a heartbreaking situation.
In the final moments of P’s life, Joscelyn showed incredible strength and grace, providing unwavering support as we said our last goodbyes. Her presence brought comfort and solace during the most challenging time of our lives, and for that, we are eternally grateful.
As I reflect on Joscelyn’s impact on our lives, I can say without hesitation that she embodies the true essence of nursing. Her unwavering dedication to patient care, her exceptional medical knowledge, and her boundless compassion are qualities that make her more than deserving of the DAISY Award.
I wholeheartedly believe that Joscelyn is a remarkable nurse and an extraordinary human being. The impact she had on our lives during our darkest days is immeasurable. While we couldn't change the outcome for our precious daughter, we are forever indebted to Joscelyn for the love and support she provided us throughout our journey.
It is my privilege to nominate Joscelyn for the DAISY Award. I believe that recognizing her exceptional contributions will not only honor her but also serve as an inspiration to others in the nursing profession.
