I underwent a total right knee replacement for the first time and had no idea what I was expecting the first 24 hrs. I was held in the post-op area until a room was available for me. Once I was assigned a room Anne was my first nurse to attend to me. She was so welcoming and made me feel so comfortable at 1:00 am in the morning. I needed assistance from the rest room and with no hesitation, she was there and ready. I am a person who is very self-sufficient so to have someone need to help me go anywhere or even clean myself was a humbling and difficult ask but in no way did Anne make me feel uncomfortable. She was on top of my medications making sure I was at a comfortable pain level and did all she could to make sure I knew everything that was happening and going into me and why. When it was time to go home, I felt prepared and ready because of the care and education she gave me. I wasn’t scared anymore, like when I first walked in not knowing. I had a great experience with all my nurses but Anne outdid herself and I can’t thank her enough. She shined and made me feel like I mattered and that care makes recovery easier and more positive.
