She asked if we wanted to get her changed but neither of us could do it so Kayleigh put her in a onesie and took such care while doing it.
Kayleigh was there the day I came in to give birth to my stillborn baby. She came into the room and introduced herself, I was a mess and we talked about what was going to happen in the day. I did end up changing my mind and asking for a C-section and she was really good about it and made sure everyone knew what was happening behind the scenes. Made sure I was as comfortable as it was going to be possible in the situation. She asked the Doctor to come in to make sure I really wanted the C-section. She came in and took me down to the theatre, reassured me, and told me she would take the baby to the side room when she was born so she could sort a few bits out.
While going through the surgery she was telling me when I was getting cut and when the baby was born. We then asked her the sex of the baby to which she replied, "You have a beautiful baby girl." Later on after I was stitched and back into the room she brought The baby into us, trying to prepare us for what we were about to see. Kayleigh asked if we wanted to see her and hold her. It was a very difficult time to which she said how beautiful and just like she was sleeping...
She asked if we wanted to get her changed but neither of us could do it so Kayleigh put her in a onesie and took such care while doing it. She and another midwife did the baby's hand and footprints. Things we will treasure forever. She also told us to take as much time as we wanted with the baby and she had a cold cot so there was no rush. Take as many photos as possible and advise to turn some into black and white. The black and white photos are our favorite. You will be the person I never forget! Thank you for everything from the bottom of my heart. The resources you gave to us before and after we left our little girl's have been invaluable.
