Ruby took charge, grabbed my hand, looked me straight in the eyes, and got me to focus on her and breathe, count, and relax.
I am a new breast cancer patient. I started my first chemotherapy treatment in January of 2023. I was nervous and scared! Upon entering the chemo drug of paclitaxel into my system, I had a reaction of not being able to breathe, tightness of chest, and lightheaded as if I were going to pass out. I was scared and in panic mode! All the staff kicked in, but it was Ruby who took charge, grabbed my hand, looked me straight in the eyes, and got me to focus on her and breathe, count, and relax. I was uncontrollable, but her calmness and expertise got me to calm down. Eventually, 911 was called, and I was admitted to emergency. Although everyone was quick to help, it was Ruby who went above and beyond to take control of the situation. I am so grateful to her! I am now on my 5th chemo treatment, and she continues to make each session comfortable for me.
