I have chosen to nominate Andrain for several reasons. First of all, she is willing to give of her own personal time to ensure that our new nurses are emotionally and mentally getting the mentorship that they need to be the best possible professionals they can be. Andrain gives her personal cell phone number to staff members who are not in her own unit to mentor and talk with them about emotional and personal issues they may be struggling with. That shows dedication.

Secondly, Andrain is willing to precept fellow employees when they are striving to meet their educational goals even when she is busy being a charge nurse and trying to finish her Master’s degree herself. Andrain willingly accepts other students and employees and wants to see them achieve greatness; this is conveyed not only in the way she talks to the students but in the way they speak about her as well. She is very well respected by her peers.

Lastly, Andrain has a heart for her profession and a strong desire to be the very best nurse that she can be. This is evident in the way she leads her team daily, speaks to coworkers and patients, and reveals her servant's heart regularly.
