I have the privilege of working with an absolute treasure of a nurse, Julie Holtsclaw. She is our one and only triage nurse here at Bella Nova Women's Health. We are a very busy women's health practice located in beautiful St Joseph. Julie has been our triage nurse for many, many years. Our patients have come to know and love Julie, and even more importantly, trust Julie. Our patients know how busy Julie can be on a day-to-day basis, but they also know that if they leave a message for Julie, they're guaranteed to get a prompt, compassionate return call that same day. Julie doesn't know how to leave any work for the next day. I can honestly say that I have not met a nurse more dedicated and more compassionate than Julie. She reaches out to our patients in such a way that makes them feel like more than just a patient. I've seen her laugh with patients, cry with patients, pray with patients, and even share her own personal experiences with our patients because sometimes, that's exactly what they need to help them feel like they're not in this alone and that we're here for them, whatever that need may be. She comes to work every day with such a positive energy it can't help but radiate through our office and into the hearts of the patients she interacts with every day. Even on her busiest days, she still finds the time to send me positive and encouraging 'good morning' and 'thanks for all you do, see you tomorrow!' messages. Her enthusiasm and dedication are something that's so special and hard to find. On the rough days, it's her positive outlook on life that helps me to seek out the positives! It only takes a few heartfelt words to reach a wound that only compassion can heal.
