She was my biggest cheerleader with all the encouragement she gave.
While all my nurses during my 3-day stay were top notch, Agnes is a bar raiser of the most special kind.

From the simplest act of squishing the pillow before placing it under my arm to the willingness to contact the doctor for additional medications, that weren’t standard for my procedure, she was always innovating for my highest good and made me feel comfortable and heard.

Agnes was compassionate and caring. She was mindful of my needs for when I get home. She showed me how to get out of bed safely, even asking which side of the bed I’d be getting out of that home so we would practice properly in the hospital. Agnes was there for my first walk a distance of "two hearts." She was my biggest cheerleader with all the encouragement she gave.

Agnes practices her profession at the highest level of excellence. She was very conscientious of doctor instructions, following his instructions very closely, staying on the hour every hour, monitoring my Doppler sensors and taking pictures to send to him via my chart and contacting him when she thought additional care may be required.

Agnes demonstrates great leadership qualities as she works closely with her teammates. I can see the respect given to her by others in the hospital. Often other nurses and trainees wanted to see her process and understand the steps she took monitoring me. She was efficient at explaining how to drain ports, monitor arterial, and venous sensors, and how to take the best photo based on what the doctor wanted to monitor.

Thank you, Agnes, and thank you, DAISY Foundation for providing a forum to thank all of my nurses at Mills Peninsula Hospital.
