Collectively, we would like to recognize Jackie. We recently had a tough evening on 8SW, right before a holiday weekend. Instead of getting out of work early, or even on time, Jackie opted to stay for a 12+ hour shift and helped out on the floor instead of going home. 

From transferring patients to the ICU, holding patients who needed to transfer but couldn’t, answering bed alarms, etc. Jackie was there to help us the entire time. She was contacting doctors, pulling meds, answering phones and call lights, keeping a positive attitude, and being an overall comforting presence for all of us during a quite terrible shift. 

In addition to this specific instance, Jackie deserves to be recognized for the continuous work she’s been doing on 8SW for years. From helping lead us through a pandemic for 2+ years. Advocating for us when appropriate. Keeping our team in good spirits. Celebrating the wins, and everything else she does for us.

Jackie has a lot on her plate for being a “one-woman show”, and she exceeds at it every single day. 8SW is lucky to have a manager who truly lives our mission and is present with our staff and patients. You’ll often find her beating the floor nurses to beeping IVs and other alarms. We’re grateful to have her as a manager, but even more grateful that she never hesitates to stay with us at the bedside.
