His energy and compassion are simply unmatched. He always ensured I was safe in my transfers and was there to lend a helping hand when other nurses needed assistance. His knowledge of medicine and his listening abilities were incredible.
Victor positively and undeniably embodies all the principles above. Being a big guy, about 200 lbs., Victor was always there whether he was my nurse or not. He works with the rest of the nursing staff as a team player. His energy and compassion are simply unmatched. He always ensured I was safe in my transfers and was there to lend a helping hand when other nurses needed assistance. His knowledge of medicine and his listening abilities were incredible. At times, it almost felt like he was my doctor. He was always trying to problem solve. He helped resolve issues with my skin, bowels, bladder, and even my pain, something as simple as knowing to put a pillow in the correct location.
Victor was intelligent in fixing problems I didn't even know I had. Victor also constantly trained another nurse. He had much patience in training the new nurses. They flourished and brought his same compassions into their practice. My family, both mom and dad, came every day and were equally impressed with Victor's excellence. It comes out of him in all the things he does. He always ensured I was kicking my goals by ensuring I got to my therapies on time, dressed, fed, medicine, bowels, the whole 9 yards. Victor is like a superhero in Scrubs. I knew I'd have a great day whenever Victor was my nurse. Thank you for being you. Keep up the amazing work.

Victor demonstrates critical thinking when it comes to solving problems or initiating changes. He doesn't fall into the trap of doing things the same way simply because that's how they've always been done. He keeps the line of communication open. He is attentive by making detailed reports on the client's condition and informing doctors about any significant changes. Similarly, when documenting the patient's response to interventions, he always provides accurate information and describes the same evaluative measures to measure and evaluate the patient's progression.
Victor manages time wisely by setting priorities, delegating when appropriate, and eliminating activities that waste time. When delegating, he conveys confidence to his peers and trusts their skill sets. In addition, he creates a climate of trust. He remains transparent about department activities and listens to others to demonstrate sensitivity to their needs. In the absence of a Supervising Nurse, he acts as a charge nurse, takes ownership to lead the unit, and communicates effectively with nursing staff in the team's day-to-day operations.
Victor is the unit representative of the Research Council. He actively participates in the Unit Project Innovation Council (UPIC) meeting held on the 2nd Thursday of the month. He keeps himself up to date on patient care, healthcare trends, treatment, and techniques by attending hospital in-services. He has submitted an ARN abstract on the Squeaky-Clean initiative, got accepted, and participated at the 2023 ARN Nursing Rehabilitation Conference in Rhode Island.
