Being good at your job is something you’re supposed to be. Being exceptional is something else. This nurse was awesome every day. This person was his nurse but specifically on the day my grandson was being discharged, we had an issue with his medication. It was a seizure medicine that had to be compounded, meaning you couldn’t just walk into a pharmacy and get it. With the changes to his prescription, we didn’t have enough to make it through till we could get it refilled. This nurse spent hours and went way above and beyond to make sure he/we had enough of his medication to make it through. They then explained everything in great detail to make sure we knew what we were doing. They even told us that they were working the next day and that if we had any questions to call them. Again, being good at your job is something you’re supposed to be. But the ability to be compassionate and to demonstrate empathy is something else and should be recognized. Thank you for this forum. Exceptionalism should be publicly acknowledged and recognized.

I’m writing this for my 6-year-old. She had tonsil surgery here, and this nurse was great. They went above and beyond to help us and make us feel comfortable.
