My grandfather has rheumatoid arthritis/Pulmonary Fibrosis and was admitted to the hospital because of how severely he was struggling to breathe. Whitney was on duty when my grandpa was transferred from the ER to his room. There is nothing more anyone can do for my grandpa, other than keep him comfortable and Whitney has gone above and beyond to care for and support my grandpa and our family as so many were coming and going.

As we spend time loving him and saying goodbye. Whitney's shifts have been long, but she has worked now for 3 days with Grandpa, showing an incredible depth of compassion and genuine care. She asked to work an extra 16-hour shift, even when she hadn't been scheduled to, just because she cared. She has calmed Grandpa, teased smiles out of him, and taken care of my grandma and the many family members coming in to say goodbye.

As someone who works in a CCRC, I see and value the incredible gift and blessing of RNs and other staff who genuinely pour themselves into the lives they care for. Whitney has been incredible in dealing with each family member and in her care for my grandpa. It helped to make this painful and difficult time a bit more peaceful.
