Lindsay was such a calm and informative presence during all stages of my labor.
I was admitted to Labor and Delivery for a planned induction. My husband and I were fortunate to have Lindsay as my nurse for the three days I was admitted until I gave birth.
Lindsay was such a calm and informative presence during all stages of my labor. She answered all of our questions and always asked if we had any additional questions. We felt safe asking her anything, and we felt comforted by the competence and clarity with which she answered us. As labor progressed, I felt more and more safe and comfortable in her hands. I had expressed concerns about pain management early on in my hospitalization, and together we made a plan to best manage my pain. I was always at ease because I knew that Lindsay would follow up on any concerns I expressed to her in a timely manner.
When it came time to start pushing, the environment was totally calm and supportive. Lindsay coached me and made me feel safe. Our baby girl was delivered and ended up needing some initial resuscitation and support. Lindsay remained calm but took action right away to help our baby breathe. At the time, I was so sure that our baby would be fine and would be in my arms soon.
Looking back, a large part of my reassurance was because I knew that I and my baby were in the best hands. I am forever indebted to Lindsay for taking care of me and for saving my baby. Although I thanked her, I feel like I will never be able to fully express how grateful I am for those three days of the utmost care that she provided to me and my baby. She has left an incredible impact on me, and thanks to her, I look back on what could have been a miserable induction quite fondly.
I hope that this nomination is an additional way that I can show my heartfelt thanks to Lindsay for the limitless compassion, encouragement, and education that she provided during my admission. We wish her the best, with gratitude, always.
