Despite having an induction scheduled, babies have their own agenda and mine was no different. I really struggled throughout my pregnancy and didn’t exactly have the best support system to help me through labor & delivery. When I met Kaelie, my labor progress had picked up speed and I was in quite a bit of pain. While I wasn’t afraid, I felt very alone until she walked into the room. Her bright and kindred spirit felt immediately familiar, and I knew I could trust her to guide me through this process safely. When I spoke to her and expressed my needs, she not only listened intently, she acted immediately. She moved with purpose and confidence while continuing to encourage and support me when I needed it most. I never had a doubt about who was my biggest advocate in the room that day. Watching her take charge of my care during a really quick progressing labor, was so reassuring that I was able to fully surrender to the labor process and deliver a happy, healthy baby. She wasted no time after I delivered ensuring I was fed, comfortable, and had everything I needed to leave her unit confidently with my brand-new baby.

Her collaboration with her team from start to finish exemplified the true leadership that I firmly believe it takes quality, compassionate healthcare to a level of excellence. She is an absolute gem of a person, an incredible nurse and I am so grateful to have found myself in her care that day. She will never know how much I needed her support, and I will never be able to thank her enough for it. Kaelie, never stop being you! Your patients are so lucky to have you!
