Renee stopped at a store on her way to work to purchase him two pairs of pants, two shirts, a bag of socks, underclothes, bath towels, washcloths, and soap.
I have worked with Renee for 4 years now. She is a valuable nurse and charge nurse on the 12th floor. She remains calm, very diligent, and focused in emergencies such as TREAT Team and Code Blue events. When she has nursing students with her she helps them learn and be a part of various situations. I can go on and on about Renee and have heard many stories of her career. There is one in particular that touched my heart so beautifully.
She had an elderly patient years ago who came in and had one suit. It was not very clean, and was very worn. He told her that every night he would take off his shirt and jacket and then hang them beside the bed before going to sleep. When he came to us, he had not had a bath in a very long time. She made sure that he was cleaned up, fed, and resting comfortably. The next day, Renee stopped at a store on her way to work to purchase him two pairs of pants, two shirts, a bag of socks, underclothes, bath towels, washcloths, and soap. That way, when he was discharged, he would have some fresh belongings.
This is why Renee became a nurse. This quality you cannot teach; it must be in your soul and every beat of your heart; it must be your passion. It most definitely is hers.
