I know that this job is so difficult but nurses like Lisa are why I will drive to the end of the earth to get the best care my son needs.
My son and I have been dealing with one illness after another, RSV, pneumonia, and now Adenovirus. I am a single mother and clearly tired and stressed. I also come from a domestic violence situation and divulged this to Lisa. She has gone above and beyond her duties in caring for both of us since the very beginning but especially when I had a panic attack after my son fell from the crib here at the hospital. The compassion she displayed by just giving me a hug when I was falling to my knees, wiping the sweat from my brow as the doctors cared for my son. She helped me talk to the social worker who was supportive. We are back for a second round of admission and I prayed she would be here and we would get her. She is here now and I feel such a sense of peace. I know that this job is so difficult but nurses like Lisa are why I will drive to the end of the earth to get the best care my son needs.
Very kind and compassionate and took such great care of my grandson. Thank you so very much. Lisa has been wonderful to my family! she has gone above and beyond

My 9-month-old daughter was admitted to CMC Waterbury after an accidental ingestion. This was a scary event for all involved. The anxiety and guilt that took over as a mother was very heavy. Lisa was the perfect advocate for my daughter. She was a rock when I needed it as a mother. She went above and beyond for my family and I could never thank her enough. In a situation where it is easy to be judged mentally, Lisa was the opposite. At no time for she make me or my husband feel judged. She was supportive, understanding, and caring. Thank you, Lisa!

Lisa attended to my wife and my son nonstop from our stay until discharge and had been nothing but nice. She was genuinely concerned not only for my son but for my wife as well who was eating very little. She took the time to recognize that though it was my child that was sick, simply offering a gingerale and a muffin went a long way in ensuring I felt like myself and could participate in the care of my child. Her attentiveness is also behind reproach.

She was so well with my daughter and very understanding always made my daughter and myself ok. When my other children had to stay at this hospital she was great then and now nothing has ever changed. She is such a sunflower, a great human being.

My son was transferred from another hospital to CCMC and admitted on Friday; he was very uncomfortable had low oxygen and was just not himself. All the care was excellent and immediate. But there is one specific nurse who from the moment Lisa presented herself in the room has been a blessing! She advocates for her patients and truly cares! She went above and beyond and would always offer to change our sheets because housekeeping didnít or would take the trash with her even though I felt like it wasnít her responsibility.

My son only took medicine given to him by syringe with me or Lisa. Not any other nurse. Not to mention she was the first nurse to offer my son an actual bath in the tub and got him up and moving. She was efficient and answered every question this worried mom had. She doesn't know how much comfort she brought to me during this tough time and I truly hope she gets recognized. I'm truly grateful for Lisa and everything she's done for my family. You at CCMC are lucky to have a nurse like Lisa at Saint Mary's!
