He stood at my bedside and held my hand and talked and assured me I was going to do great! He even went in and talked to the two nurses who were going to be with me in my procedure room and told them they needed to take extra special care of me and remind me I was going to be ok! Wow! I feel like I have known him for a lifetime!
I met Grant when I went into my procedure room. I instantly felt a bond with him, and the way he took care of me and helped me was unbelievable! I was scared, and I think he sensed that. He talked to me and assured me I was doing good and was going to be ok. I remember the last thing I heard before I went out was Grant's voice saying, "You are doing great! We are here and are going to take good care of you! You are doing great!"

I was back, four days later, nervous again, and had no idea Grant would be in the procedure again! I was prepared and headed to the procedure to get my EGD done - as I rolled into the room, I looked up, and there was Grant standing there with a big smile and said – “hey you are back!” Seeing that smile and hearing that reassuring voice made me instantly feel at ease and my nerves were able to calm down. He talked to me the whole time they were getting me ready and assured me what a great job I was doing! Again, the last thing I heard before I went out was, “You are doing great! We are here and will take great care of you!”

My last scope was a few days later. I arrived at 7:00am and was taken back to get ready. I was sitting in bed waiting for them to get my IV started, and my nurse said- “I have someone who wants to say hi.” - my curtain opened, and it was Grant! He came by to check on me and to say hi. He was scheduled ahead of time to be in another procedure room that morning, but he had talked to my doctor and knew I was coming that morning, so he wanted to come talk to me. He stood at my bedside and held my hand and talked and assured me I was going to do great! He even went in and talked to the two nurses who were going to be with me in my procedure room and told them they needed to take extra special care of me and remind me I was going to be ok! Wow! I feel like I have known him for a lifetime! He is an unbelievably excellent nurse and human!!! I arrived in the procedure room, and the two nurses that were in there introduced themselves to me and proceeded to tell me Grant came by and told us we were to take good care of you. That touched my heart. Again, the last thing I heard was, “You are doing great, just rest, we will take care of you, and remember Grant is thinking about you!” When I woke up in my recovery room, my nurse and my husband were with me, and I saw the curtain open, and it was Grant! He told me earlier that morning that he would try to get back to see me before I left. And there he was! My husband got to meet this young man that I had raved about the last several days. They got to visit, and Grant held my hand and talked to me about how happy he was at how well my procedure went that day!

The only true way I can explain to you about Grant is that I feel like he is an angel our Lord sent to me on earth! He took every fear and nervousness I had - I felt totally at ease when he was around and helping care for me! This young man took care of me and made me feel at ease! I have never felt that way when I had to have some medical procedure done. I am always a bundle of nerves and lots of tears! I have complete faith in him. You, without a doubt, have one of the best nurses on your staff with Grant! He deserves recognition beyond giving him the moon and stars! I would like this letter to be given to Grant, his boss, the highest person who works at this hospital, and everyone in between them. Thank you for hiring this young man and allowing my life to be touched by him!
