Woodwinds Hospital is one of the most excellent hospitals in this state. It has been my honor and privilege to work in such a great organization. What makes it so wonderful are staff members who are dedicated to our patients, their families, and to our community. I had never been so fortunate enough to be working in a wonderful hospital before, which has such talented and compassionate nurses I feel everyone on my unit deserves an award. However, Jon Tran is one that really stands out.

I am not one who is great with my words. I am afraid I could never truly convey how wonderful Jon Tran is, but he truly shines. He is a comforting light in the midst of darkness. He is the embodiment of a perfect nurse. Jon Tran is not only an outstanding nurse but an amazing charge nurse. If anyone deserves an award, it is Jon Tran. Not only is he intelligent and kind but he has a gentleness about him that brings comfort to his patients as well as strength to his nurse staff in moments of crisis.

Nurses’ time is limited, charge nurses have duties and responsibilities of daily operations, but also take patients as well. Charge nurses do not have the time for the little things. However, Jon is selfless. He gives a part of himself to serve his nurses and CNAs. When he is the charge, he frequently goes around and asks if his staff members are okay and that, if needed, he is there for them. On the floor, when the lights are going, he answers quite a lot of them. Even when there are lights for patients wanting to go to the bathroom, Jon doesn’t just delegate the task to a CNA. He personally takes the patients. When a person lives as a good example, it inspires you to want to work harder and give more. That is what Jon Tran does. He inspires me to give more and be a better nurse.

There are an endless amount of examples of Jon’s greatness, I could possibly go on forever and never express how truly amazing he really is...It has been my privilege to have Jon Tran as my charge nurse. Please consider him for this great honor thank you.
