Lou was kind and comforting during my visit. She was cheerful and friendly making the ER a less scary place.
I recently experienced my first miscarriage and was admitted to ER. I was overwhelmed with emotions with not only losing my first child but also having to deal with the anxiety and fear of the hospital procedures.

Lou was kind and comforting during my visit. She was cheerful and friendly making the ER a less scary place. During my procedure, I was emotional and she comforted me with a gentle tone saying, I am okay, and "You’re doing well.” The few words that can make a lasting impact. She was patient, kind, and sincere. She made jokes and ensured that the process would be okay.

She assisted with drawing blood, preparing for the procedure, and assisting my mother when she had questions reassuring me that I would be okay.

Being an ER nurse or any nurse the demands and exhaustion is high. She didn’t show any signs of irritation or any gesture of being annoyed with me or other patients which sometimes can be unintentional. Yet she showed a professional demeanor, humility, and desire to help. Patients can sense when their nurse or provider is tired, annoyed, irritated, or simply not wanting to help but because “it’s their job”
they do so.

I’m grateful Lou was in the ER that day, I may have had a different outcome or experience.
