Abby is an extraordinary and compassionate nurse. While my dad was in the hospital, she was attentive to every one of his needs. Abby was a strong patient advocate. She listened to the patient and family and communicated with the physician on our behalf. When she brought the code status to the attention of the family, and it was completely the opposite of our wishes, she immediately took care of the issue. Abby provided skilled and compassionate care to my father. She always created an environment for him that was safe and healing. She participated in daily evening prayers and allowed for the privacy of the family to promote spiritual well-being. She allowed my parents to be together and showed genuine compassion for both my mom and dad. My dad had a hard time being separated from his wife of 73 years- Abby supported my mom being at the hospital while at the same time showing concern for her well-being. Mercy is very fortunate to have Abby on their team. She is a team player, caring, compassionate, empathetic, strong patient advocate, a good listener, and an Extraordinary Nurse. She goes above and beyond what is expected of her. She is a true DAISY Nurse.
