Nancy took it upon herself to drive to CVS pharmacy to pick up the prescription. Nancy ended up paying for the patient’s prescription and over-the-counter Tylenol.
Nancy was caring for a COVID-positive patient. The patient was being discharged. The patient did not have family here in Maryland, and she did not drive. Case management was gone for the day. She went to get the patient’s prescriptions since she was COVID + and had no family in MD. It was the weekend, and our pharmacy was closed. Because she wanted her to have her medication, and because she physically could not go to get it because of quarantine, Nancy took it upon herself to drive to CVS pharmacy to pick up the prescription. The patient did not drive and was using a cab voucher for discharge. Nancy ended up paying for the patient’s prescription and over-the-counter Tylenol since the pharmacy would not take the patient’s card info over the phone.
