When I told her that I was in pain, she immediately began working on ways to make me more comfortable in my infusion chair.
I was on my third straight day of chemotherapy treatment, prepping me for Car-T. I was having severe back pain, and I had been for days. My nurse for the day was Maggie. When I told her that I was in pain, she immediately began working on ways to make me more comfortable in my infusion chair. She then began contacting the doctor or physician assistant to find out what I could be given to treat my pain. It was the first time during all of my pre-treatment for Car-T that I had complained of pain, and the nurse responded with help for me. When I left, I thanked Maggie for listening to me about my pain and for taking care of me. Maggie also took care of me one day for my post-Car-T treatment. She was happy to see me, and she was training a new nurse. The new nurse was fortunate to have Maggie precept her. Thank you.
