I felt so much care from Laura as she was helping me through that difficult experience and to this day, I know that I can still contact her with anything.
Laura is one of the most amazing people I’ve ever met. She is encouraging, comforting, helpful, knowledgable, and just overall absolutely incredible. She has such an incredible passion for helping students grow and prosper and she is always so proud of our accomplishments. She would do anything for her students and I am beyond grateful to have gotten to learn from her.

Laura is beyond dedicated to the education and well-being of the nursing students and staff at MSOE. She continues to champion the interest of the nursing school by embodying the mission, vision, and values of the university. Her dedication to promoting the field of nursing goes beyond the classroom as she continues to perform community outreach to high schools in the area and includes current students in the outreach initiative to provide opportunities for growth and leadership. Her caring and compassionate disposition continue to foster an inclusive and supportive environment.
Laura goes above and beyond when it comes to making nursing students feel comfortable and confident. Not only is she an incredible asset, but she has provided opportunities for nursing students to visit and speak to high school students about the nursing profession. She is an incredible advocate for the nursing profession as a whole, a very experienced and insightful nurse, and most importantly, she is a reliable and trustworthy person that students can turn to regarding any questions or concerns. Laura is a kind, genuine, and caring person who exemplifies what it means to be a nurse.

I nominate Laura for the School of Nursing DAISY Award for her compassion, patience, and excellence in nursing. I knew from the moment I met her she was going to be a great resource and mentor during my time at MSOE and after. I had the pleasure of working with Laura almost every Friday morning at 0830 during last year. She used that time to get to know me and likewise I got to know her. Her extensive experience was evident with every interaction we had together and with the advice and tips she gave during our conversations. Each interaction with her is pleasant and she is always asks how everyone is doing even when she is busy running around. Laura takes the time to get to know her students and tells us that we can come to her with anything.
One day I came to her at a stressful time and she noticed that something was wrong. She stopped what she was doing, took me to another room for privacy, and just listened while I talked.
