Shehonda goes above behind for her staff. She trained me to become a phlebotomist, and I worked with her on 1 East before she became my nurse manager on the resource team.

Sherhonda is an amazing nurse and an asset to Peace Hospital. She goes above and beyond in her role and is always advocating for patient safety. There was a situation where a patient was struggling in ARC, the patient stripped and defecated on himself, the wall, and the clothing he had been wearing. He was aggressive and was placed in a CPI hold. Sherhonda went to ARC to help clean up the mess and offer support to the team members involved. She leads by modeling the behaviors that she expects, and she never asks her team to do anything she is not willing to do.

Sherhonda is the first manager I have had who goes out of her way to make sure you are not just coming to work but also enjoying yourself. That wasn't always the case. She is someone who is easy to bring problems to and will always go to bat if it's the right thing to do. She has really been a pleasure to work with and get to know more.

She exemplifies a DAISY Nurse by helping others and working hard to find the positive in things here at Peace. In addition, she mentors new nurse leaders and is well respected.
