My father had been fighting lung cancer and ended up in the ICU with a collapsed lung. Gabby was one of the nurses caring for my dad. She is amazing!! Not only did my dad trust her, but she took the time to get to know him and his family. She was a huge support to everyone. I brought my dad's Afghan to the hospital. His mom crocheted one Afghan for each child. She passed away, and my dad has clung to the blanket ever since. There was one spot - right in the middle of a flower - that broke and unraveled a bit, Gabby fixed it! During one of the hardest times in my dad's life, Gabby fixed the thing that reminded my dad of his mother's love for him. He takes a lot of comfort from that blanket, and now he is proudly showing off his mother's hard work while talking about Gabby fixing it for him.
