Korintha went the extra mile each and every time she interacted with my mom.

My 91-year-old mother, who is deaf and is struggling with dementia, was admitted after a fall at home and experiencing a sudden inability to speak. She was so frightened of being in an unfamiliar place and having to deal with all of the stressors an emergency room visit and admission entails. My mother was cared for by several kind and compassionate staff members to whom we are very grateful.

The nurse who truly stood out as outstanding was Korintha who did everything she could to partner with me to help my mother feel safe. Her patience with my mother and the extra time she took to work at communicating with her and reassuring her was so noteworthy and appreciated. Though it was obvious the unit was very busy, Korintha went the extra mile each and every time she interacted with my mom. Her expert care, reassurance, and presence made all the difference in helping my mother progress towards returning to her baseline status rather than experiencing a decline as is often seen in the elderly after a traumatic event. I will always be grateful to Korintha- she makes me proud to be a fellow nurse.
