My son was diagnosed with a very aggressive type of cancer. Thank God we found it and treated it on time. Since then, it has been a roller coaster of emotions for our family and especially for my son. Him being a 13-year-old to put his life on hold was very difficult. It helped that all the nursing staff was wonderful but the one that stood out for us was Mary. She made a connection with my son more than any other nurse. She would bring him his favorite snacks and drinks. Also, one of the medications was making my son very nauseous and she made it her mission to figure out a way to help him, and she did! Come to find out that all he needed were mints while administering the medication. Now they have this inside joke about mint experimenting. She also makes sure that he is comfortable at all times, so for making my son suffer a little less, THANK YOU!!
