I had my first child and my labor and delivery experience was wonderful. All of the staff I had taking care of me were excellent, but I wanted to especially recognize Karen Guye. Karen was my nurse during the day shift when my daughter was born and it was because of Karen that I will always look back on the birth of my daughter with joy.

Karen has years of experience as an L&D RN and it shows. Her nursing skills were phenomenal as well as her interpersonal skills. Karen explained things clearly and compassionately to me, which is so important when you are a patient experiencing something as life-changing as childbirth. Karen was always kind and made me feel comfortable during a time when there was a lot of uncertainty, anxiety, and fear. She was the perfect combination of professional yet also made me feel like we were friends. Karen knew exactly what to do in order for my baby girl to be delivered safely - she always acted with efficiency and decisiveness.

As an added bonus, Karen made a point to visit me the next day in the Mom/Baby unit. It was so nice to see her and to be able to thank her for her outstanding care. It's nurses like Karen that make me trust Kaiser as my healthcare provider.
