She saw how I was freaking out as my son was having a seizure, and she never lost focus on my son being a priority and me as his mother.
From the moment that Michala approached us, you can feel the care and compassion she has. My wife was alone when our son was admitted, and he had another seizure as he was getting settled in his room. From the beginning, Michala was told that our son is special needs and is not able to describe how he feels. But not only did she understand, she was so helpful. She had everything under control during both seizure episodes, and she also helped to comfort and make sure his mom was okay. From all the times we have had hospital admissions, we have never felt the care and compassion that Michala shares so naturally from within her.

To begin, I have had several stays with my son with his seizure activity episodes. My son is also special needs; even though he has a disability, Michala treated him as a very normal human being. On our first night, when we arrived, my son had a seizure in the room for maybe 15 minutes as she was assessing him. As seizures are very scary, even as all the staff that was in the room and as Michala was attending to my son and making sure he was okay, she also stayed and focused on me as well. She saw how I was freaking out as my son was having a seizure, and she never lost focus on my son being a priority and me as his mother. From all the years of going to ERs and hospital stays, I have NEVER had a nurse give us the care and love she did. I felt the love and heart she puts into her job because, honestly, I feel she treats all her patients as family instead of just another patient. Michala is one of a kind and puts her whole heart into her work.
