Heather was the RN who cared for my critically ill husband the day before he passed away. She was very attentive to his needs and compassionate with the family members, answering all questions about how he was doing and about treatments being offered to him. My husband of 61 years. I was called to the hospital around 7:00 am and told to come quickly. I got there minutes after he took his last breath. Heather was getting patient reports when she heard that J was in crisis. She immediately left report and went to him. She consoled him and stayed by him until his last breath. She was there to console me and hugged me tight. She gave me comforting words. Chairs were brought in as other family members came and were allowed time to cry and grieve. Heather brought us water and coffee. We were allowed to stay as long as needed. She really made the final trauma of losing a loved one a little easier. Her caring gesture to stay by J means so much to me and my family.
