I just want to thank Courtney Oney! She is an amazing RN. She always goes above and beyond, but specifically a few days ago she was a true hero! A 3-year-old Jane Doe came into our facility, she was in a horrific accident where she lost both of her parents. She had a 3-hour car ride in an ambulance with two firefighters that she did not know without her parents after being in that accident which took them a while to get her out of the vehicle she was stuck in. She was scared, uncomfortable, and in pain from her car seat straps. She was in shock around a bunch of strangers and Courtney connected with her.

Courtney set up her room with stuffed animals, a blanket, coloring books, and crayons. She held her and talked to her so gently. The little girl looked like she felt safe in her arms. Courtney combed her hair and put it in pigtails and told her she was safe. If I passed away, I would want my child to be taken care of the way Courtney took care of her. She wasn’t just a nurse, but a mom and a wonderful human to that sweet baby, and as sad as it was to see how tired and scared she was, she found some comfort in Courtney! I am proud to be her coworker and friend. Thank you for everything you do.
