Heidi was my infusion nurse throughout my treatment. She was the first nurse to administer cyclophosphamide to me. She made sure that I knew all the precautions to take to prevent serious adverse effects with this medication. I am happy to report that I didn't suffer any serious side effects, and I thank Heidi for that. Heidi is an incredible nurse who is very detail-oriented. She checks everything over every time you are her patient. She will verify all your home medications, treatment plans, and current symptoms. Her dedication to detail really puts you at ease when you are in her care. When she prepared my chemo pump to go home, she ensured the tubing was meticulously clipped into the pouch. This ensured no kinks or disconnects during the 22 hours it was infusing at home. When I finished my chemo treatment, Heidi was right there to watch me ring the bell (even though I wasn't her assigned patient that day). You can tell how much she cares for her patients.
