Megan is a clinical leader in the ED at DMH and leads her team through shift after shift of stormy weather with grace, good humor, and professionalism. The ED is a tough place to work - you do not have control over much. You can never shut your front door; you must always take the sickest patients; you have to manage chaos from the beginning of your shift to the end and as a clinical leader/charge nurse you have to do all this with a smile and never-ending patience.

Megan handles the most chaotic shifts with kindness, patience, clinical excellence, and a smile. She keeps her team afloat, guides and mentors, leads by example and provides as much support as humanly possible. She cares about those on her team who do the hardest work - the bedside staff. Her care shows and is felt by her entire team. Megan is also taking over as the chair of our Nursing Congress next month. Megan is a shining example of authentic, genuine leadership.
