I was crying and so scared, and she held my hand until my husband and Mom got there. This was one of the most special moments of my life, showing how much nurses can really impact patients.
I arrived to Mercy via ambulance at 35 weeks pregnant and my leg was completely purple. I ended up having a massive blood clot in my leg, requiring a hospital stay. Morgan was my first nurse upon getting to the hospital and we formed a special connection. She was wonderful and thoughtful and did her best to make me feel comfortable during a really scary time. Fast forward a couple of days, and my baby being delivered at 36 weeks, a second blood clot formed in my leg. The chances of a limb or life loss were over 50%. Once Morgan was off work, she came to check on me in her normal clothes and found me alone as all my family had previously gone home for the day before we knew the clot was back. Morgan sat with me until my family arrived, although she was not on the clock, and even prayed with me. I was crying and so scared, and she held my hand until my husband and Mom got there. This was one of the most special moments of my life, showing how much nurses can really impact patients. Morgan went absolutely above and beyond by taking her own time to stay with me when she was not working nor was she my nurse at this time. I don't know what I would have done without her that night, and she has touched my heart forever.
