Parva is a knowledgeable nurse. She is very helpful. She is a team player. She is a great resource on the unit. If you have any questions, you are easily able to reach out to her. Parvathi is a preceptor on the unit. All the new nurses work well with her and look to her as a resource person. She is a Skin Care Champion and is very involved in the Skin Care Committee. Many patients recognize her as being an excellent nurse and appreciate when she takes time to pray with them.

Mrs. Parvathi Bekkam is a nurse in the Observation Unit at WOMC. She was nominated for the DAISY Award by her co-workers and recognized by her patients as an employee who displays professional sympathy, compassion, proficiency competency, considerate, cooperative, and friendliness. She is an employee who places our R.I.S.E.S. values in front of every interaction that she has with her patients. She always advocates for the patients in the unit and works cooperatively by mobilizing resources to facilitate an environment that fosters care and compassion to meet the goals of patient care and their families. On multiple occasions, I observed her ease the patient’s pain and offer hope in ways that were meaningful to our patients or their loved ones, sometimes offering to pray with the patients and their loved ones for a prompt recovery, making a special connection with the patient and /or his/her family. She takes her time to educate and include the patient and family during the care process. She consistently exhibits extraordinary compassion and kindness to her team members, patients, and their families every day as an essential part of the healing process. Her calm, focused, and caring communication skills help establish the connection and trust with her patients, especially in challenging situations.
