She made my hospital as pleasant and comfortable as possible and explained what was happening in a way that was easily understood.
I was suffering from pain in both sides of my chest. I thought I might be having a heart attack. Turns out the problem was my gallbladder. Krystyna worked the day shift on the 7th floor. Her accent intrigued me, and I asked her what her nationality was, and I suspected it was Polish, and I told her my great-grandmother was from Poland, but that really has nothing to do with why I am nominating her for this award. She treated me with respect and dignity, and if I had questions that she did not know the answers to, she found out. She made my hospital as pleasant and comfortable as possible and explained what was happening in a way that was easily understood. She made sure that I got my medications on time. When Krystyna was in the room caring for me, I felt that her attention was fully on my care, and I believe that is why I am nominating her for this award. She seems to me to be not only a very special nurse, the kind whom others should aspire to be, but also a very special person.
