​Sibelle is worthy of the DAISY Nurse Leader Award for multiple reasons: 1. You can always count on ​Sibelle to handle patient issues, big and small. She keeps an eye out for patients who may need extra care and regularly contacts the patient and the patient's RN. 2. Staff reported on their last "Workplace Survey" that they wanted more MOCK emergency codes. ​Sibelle responded to that need and has held monthly MOCK codes for the past three months, covering a variety of patient conditions and circumstances. 3. When The Joint Commission came in June 2023, ​Sibelle stayed four extra hours after her shift ended to be the 3 West representative as the day CNC was off on PTO. ​Sibelle works 12-hour shifts overnight, so for her to leave at 11 am instead of 7 am in order to be available for the auditors was impressive and absolutely a marker of solid teamwork. 4. ​Sibelle works on building camaraderie among night staff, both nurses and techs. In April, she created a "get to know your co-worker Jeopardy" game. In June, she began a book club and let the members decide what kind of books to read, how often to meet, etc. On top of all these reasons, ​Sibelle is just a wonderful human being. She truly cares about patients and staff and is a natural leader. She 100% embodies the characteristics of a DAISY Nurse Leader.
