Sam attended to me the two nights I stayed at the hospital. Extremely responsive, be it because I had used the call button or because she had ongoing needs to do something with my care, EVERYTIME she came to the room, she was meticulous, taking care of whatever brought her there. And after doing a quick check to see if anything else needed to be taken care of, she would then leave. What particularly impressed me, and which I especially appreciated, was the care she gave to cleaning up the blood that oozed out of my nose and crusted in the immediate vicinity around my upper lip below my right nostril and cheek. (It looked not far different from a crusted field of dried volcanic lava with a molten mass still pulling periodically in rivulets underneath the field.) Working in and around the rhino device, she gave very complete care to clean up what she could without disturbing the rocket. I admired her precise, methodical, unhurried manner. But I appreciated even more that her manner did not treat me mechanically as just another patient. I have no doubt this is what she brings to every patient she assists. Though Sam is slight in stature, she is a giant in my eyes. I would appreciate it if the supervisor can be informed of my appreciation. And please let Sam know as well of my appreciation. I did not have the opportunity to express my thanks properly to her before I was discharged.
