Our new hire, Lissa Rullman RN delivered a baby in the Bellvue parking garage this morning on her way to work! Walking through Bellvue, she was flagged down by a husband/wife, Spanish only speaking. The wife had a baby crowning. Lissa helped deliver the baby in the garage as she had no time to wait and was the only person around. Others eventually came and assisted with a wheelchair and getting the family to the ED. The baby wasn't initially breathing and she and another person had to sternal rub the chest to get the baby to breathe. You can ask her for more details, but I think her heroics should be recognized. She has only worked at UC for a few weeks. Very impressive.
