This is going to be out of the ordinary. Buckle up because this nomination will be like no other you will read. That’s for sure. This is not your normal DAISY Award but if this is truly meant for any nurse then I have to call out a fierce leader on our unit.

I am a fellow nurse recognizing a bold leader who does not give up and who is ready to advocate for the unit until the very end. Allow me to paint a picture of who this wonderful leader is for you to also be blown away by her strength. Imagine a nurse who is not afraid to advocate for the difficult and complicated situations that arise and who is the bold voice unapologetically standing up for others behind the scenes so that those around her don't have to withstand the impact that she just embraced. Imagine a leader who speaks in place where others are afraid to have a voice. Imagine a leader who can quite literally be deteriorating inside and will still not back down without a fight to stand up for what's right. Imagine a leader who can juggle a million tasks at once and still makes time to listen to your concerns because she values you. Imagine a leader who when presented with any difficult circumstance or problem can think of an immediate solution and is quick to make it happen. Imagine a leader who you look up to and know she paved the way in her own unique way like no one else. This leader deserves this award and more for the weight she carries for the unit without anyone knowing in such a graceful way. This inexplicable leader is called my nurse manager, and you would be blessed to know the person she is.
