This Nurse is so selfless. She always puts her patients and her coworkers before herself. The last two shifts she has worked prior to me, she has ended up staying two hours later than she was supposed to. Although I’m sure she would much rather be at home, sleeping, because she had to be right back at the hospital those next days, she saw a need, and she couldn’t leave without filling that need. She is the type of nurse who knows a short-staffed unit is a unit where not only coworkers suffer, but patients suffer as well. She tries harder than anyone to ensure all issues are resolved during her shift so she doesn’t have to pass it on. I just know she is the type of nurse who simply can’t sleep at night if she hasn’t done absolutely everything to ensure her patients are taken care of. If there were only a few more of her in every hospital, more nurses would be satisfied with their jobs, and more patients would be satisfied with their care. She always goes above and beyond; she is a great role model, and she is always looking for opportunities to educate and assist other nurses on the floor so that all patients can have better experiences while hospitalized. Her dedication and passion for her patients and the nursing profession do not go unnoticed.
