Our dad went to heaven late on a Saturday night. He was at peace, and we were at peace. I want to thank the team for the support that helped us make a plan for our father. Unfortunately, Dad didn’t make it to the Hospice House, but we had a plan to get him there had he lived through that weekend.
I wanted to make you aware that the Neuro Department at Riverside Regional Medical Center walks the walk with their patients. Dad was well cared for physically and with love. I wish that I could remember each and every nurse, the aids and overnight support staff that provided our dad with exceptional care plus a big dose of love.
When Dad passed, we had a nurse who stood with us and cried with us. She is a remarkable human being. There were many nurses who were also very exceptional; I wish that I could recall all of the names to give them the credit they deserve.
The Palliative care team was critical in pulling together the hospice plan and providing the right medications at the right time. We certainly had our share of Riverside angels for the last week of our dad’s life.
Please tell all the staff of the Neuro Department that I love them and appreciate all that they did for my dad. I will never forget the love and compassionate care that my dad received on the 2nd floor!
