Ellen has been dedicated to healthcare for more than 35 years. I came to know her back in 2009. She is an amazing leader and dedicated nurse. Her devotion to helping our patients with wound care issues is astonishing. Her love of what she does cannot be mistaken. She gives 100% of herself to the quality of care she provides to our patients. She has always demonstrated great compassion for the patients at Midtown and now carries that passion to Northside. She has always supported nursing staff as an excellent resource for guidance. Whenever asked to provide education, she is there. She has provided countless hours in nursing orientation classes and in-services for the staff nurses. I listen to her teach, and I hear her compassion for what she does. She often plays out her patient advocate role in ensuring the products we choose for wound care are beneficial to our patients. There is no doubt that Ellen has made an impact on our Columbus community through her service over all these years. Most of the time, she remains out of the spotlight, but today, I want us to recognize her for all of the unseen acts of service she provides to our patients and our staff. We would not be the same without her dedication and service. It is an honor to say she is on our team.
