Diane Lamb, MSN, RN, CEN, Retired Nurse Manager, Emergency Department, AirCare, received the DAISY Lifetime Achievement Award, on October 4, 2023. The DAISY Lifetime Achievement Award was created to recognize those nurses who have devoted their life’s work to the compassionate care of others.

Diane has spent 40 years at UI Hospitals & Clinics. In nominations in support of Diane, one colleague described her as “known throughout the state as an expert in pre-hospital transportation. She is the leading authority on air and ground transport for UIHC, and her opinion is sought after by others in the state.” Another wrote: “AirCare has had many changes over the years, including the expansion of the program. Diane led with grace, expertise, and dedication. Diane was able to not only develop young flight nurses and paramedics to expand the program, but due to her leadership style, AirCare has the most tenured flight crews in the state of Iowa.”
