Our patients on the unit rave about her compassion and concern for their safety and care.
Barbara has been supportive and informative. As a nurse leader, she is someone I would aspire to be like. Her generosity and care for her fellow staff is something I wish the world could take an example from. Since starting at AdventHealth Altamonte in early May of this year, 2023, I have had the pleasure of working with her. I see that she cares for our patients and staff, always going above and beyond to make us comfortable. When I have doubts and questions, I know there is someone knowledgeable and educated that I can go to. As a new nurse at AdventHealth, this means so much to me. I feel like I can administer safe and effective care with her around. Our patients on the unit rave about her compassion and concern for their safety and care. I always appreciate her feedback on what I can do better, and seeing her example encourages me to keep us safe, own it, do better, and make it easy! I thank God that she is around to be my nurse leader at the start of my journey here at AdventHealth.
I feel that Barbara is someone who goes above and beyond to fulfill these core values. She reiterates and reinforces these service standards: “Love Me," "Keep Me Safe," "Make It Easy," and "Own It" on our unit so often that it is left imprinted in my brain. Barbara is a great example of what an educated, responsible, compassionate nurse leader should be. Our patients and nurses on the unit know that this nurse leader is someone that we can trust and turn to when we are in need because she will do what she can to guide us in the right direction or offer solutions to our questions when she is able to. Barbara always enforces our core values by following up with patient and staff concerns. She also ensures a safe environment by checking in on our med rooms, patient rooms, and IVs and providing constructive feedback.

Barbara’s dedication in follow-up visits with me to make sure all my needs are being tended to is just wonderful. Her smile and her confidence make me feel the same. I appreciate that she cares so much about my needs. She's a bright spot in my day. Thank you! Barbara’s visits regarding my daily needs make me feel safe and secure in the hospital setting. Her visits are very much appreciated.
