Matt Mogck had a profound impact on the first psychiatric hospitalizations of two patients this summer. Both patients shared that Matt was the first person to genuinely understand their story and address their concerns, consistently checking in and ensuring they were informed about the plan of care. His compassion and empathy stood out, making them feel valued as a part of the team making decisions.
Matt also provided crucial support during challenging times in the hospitalization, recognizing emotional cues and taking proactive measures for the patient to prevent any unnecessary escalation. Both nominations extended gratitude to Matt for making a lasting difference in the lives of these patients.
As one nomination read, “This was my first inpatient psychiatric admission, and I was in the dark on what to expect. I could truly feel how compassionate and empathetic Matt was. He was exactly what a nurse should be, and I appreciate his care tremendously.”
