My daughter, 37 years old, was in the ICU for seven weeks. She was really in serious condition and ultimately lost her life. While she was there, the nursing staff was very caring and thoughtful. However, there were two nurses that went above and beyond for my daughter. This is about Edith.

She was so loving and kind to me even before she was K’s nurse. She would see me come to visit K every day. She would give me a hug, and she knew when K needed an extra blanket because she was watching me, and she cared. She showed such love and kindness that my family and I bonded with her, and we knew we could count on her to take care of K. She knew what she needed, and I never had to intervene. Edith is such a wonderful, loving nurse and human being. She made sure that she was with K when her organs were donated. That meant the world. She didn’t want K to be alone in her last minutes of life.

The best way for me to show Edith love and appreciation is to nominate this incredible caring woman for a DAISY Award. She showed K and my family compassion and love and always with her beautiful smile. Thank you, Edith, for everything, and it is a pleasure to know you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’m sure that K felt your love and kindness, too. Edith is a very special woman. Edith deserves this special award. Thank you!
