My 7-year-old daughter decided it would be a good idea to fling herself backward onto her bed and hit her head hard on a wooden piece from 4.5' up. I cannot thank the after-hours nurses enough, who are on call 24/7, as they are an invaluable resource! I am so thankful for their kind demeanor and expertise when we as parents, are flustered and scared. Andrea went above and beyond to hear me and explain the best advice she had for us at 8:30 pm. She was very understanding about how I was feeling as a mother and gave very sound medical advice. She reassured me that she would look out for any openings, as Rt. 91 Peds was full the next day, in order to get my daughter evaluated for any neurological findings. Lo and behold, I received a MyChart message stating she got us in. I told her over the phone how amazing she was, and how much I appreciated her. However, she and her supervisors need to know how much of an asset she is to OSF healthcare, as well as the community. Thank you for all you do, for the time you put in, and for making such a difference!
