My father was at Piedmont Midtown for three separate stays until his death. He met Ms. Mellion on his first stay there. She was so kind and gave him excellent care each time. He bragged about her care and how she would stop by and check on him even if she was not his nurse. During his stay, he always bragged about the nurses and wanted them to receive the recognition they deserved. On the night of his death, Alicia was not his nurse, but she came in to check on him and the family. She was kind and compassionate. She explained the process of how the funeral home would collect the body. She assured the family that everything would be taken care of. She went above and beyond. When the family was collecting his belongings after his death, we found where he had written notes on a notepad about visitors and caregivers. He had written “Alicia Mellion – great nurse”. When you lose a loved one, it is so hard, but people like Ms. Mellion make you feel like you are not alone.
