As we both transitioned into med-surg, Fallon's dedication to her patients and their loved ones has only grown.
Fallon is an amazing, inspirational nurse who deserves to be recognized. Her patients always, always come first. Before Fallon and I worked in Critical Care, we worked as med-surg nurses, over 2 years ago. I still remember being the oncoming night shift nurse receiving reports from Fallon, the day shift nurse.
Our patient was in his early 20s with a newly diagnosed debilitating illness. He now had a feeding tube and other new medical devices. Fallon had taken the time, with 4 other patients, to write out instructions and label the medical tools/instruments for the mom so she could understand what everything was for and be able to participate in her son's care. As we both transitioned into med-surg, Fallon's dedication to her patients and their loved ones has only grown.
COVID-19 defeated many nurses, but Fallon did not let the virus stop her from learning and growing as a nurse. If anything, she became more resilient and dedicated. She has continued to advance as a nurse and be an advocate for her patients and their families. I would happily let Fallon take care of any of my family members or loved ones. She is resourceful, compassionate, caring, intelligent, and hard-working. Fallon inspires me and makes me want to be a better nurse.
